Travel and hotel experiences

Most of the time we go camping with our motorhome, but I also go on a plane to different places. And because a minha Donna likes to take me everywhere, I get to go to hotels and other places. I like that a lot, because in some hotels they treat me as a royalty.

Experiences

I go everywhere with my family, well almost everywhere. I go to hotels, alojamento locais and I LOVE IT. I try to behave very well so that minha Donna can be proud of me and always take me with her. Look at some of the places where I stayed, of course all are dog friendly :).

Octant · Lousã (PT)

In March it was minha Donna's birthday so we went to this beautiful hotel in central Portugal for a treat. Pets are welcome and I can assure you, I was treated well. I was allowed in all areas (did not try the spa though), I was even allowed in the dinning room and the beautiful gardens.

There was a surprise for me in the room at the arrival. I got my own dog bed with a blanket, two bowls for food and drink (including two bottles of spring water) and a toy.

The surroundings were super nice for long walks. We walked all the way to the Castelo da Lousã and then continued to the Praia Fluvial Senhora da Piedade. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed to enter either of the two sites. Nevertheless it was a nice walk through beautiful scenery.

Pestana Vila Sol, Vilamoura (PT)

For a new year celebration the whole family went to the Algarve and we stayed in a lovely resort. Pets are welcome and I had a great time there. On the arrival I received a welcome box full of yummy dog treats.

We stayed in one of the attached villas where I had direct access to the beautiful gardens, truly amazing.

Even thought I was not allowed to the dinning room, I was allowed to the bar where I was watching my humans to play pool.

We did lots of walking and running in Vilamoura along side to the beaches.

Morro dos Anjos, Olhão (PT)

We have spent our extended family Easter break in the Algarve. Oh my lord, it was awesome. We stayed in Morro do Anjos, near Olhão. I run so crazy with excitement that I overlooked the amazing pool and went in there like a rocket.

I had the freedom of the surrounding beautiful countryside. Every day we took a boat taxi to a different beach on one of the barrier islands of the Ria Formosa lagoon.

A little heaven on earth.

Casa do Armeiro, Mértola (PT)

Magical, hot Mértola! Our mid June weekend stay was hot and refreshing at the same time. Lucky there was a plunge pool in the courtyard and a river close by! The beautiful courtyard provided much needed shade during peak hours when the temperature was close to 40'C outside. A dog friendly 400-year old house where you can seek tranquillity and lovely breeze even on a hot day was the perfect getaway with my family.

Short walk down the hill from the house and you are at the Guiadiana river bank. Few steps from the house up the hill and you are at the gate to Mértola Castle.
